Tuition for Higher or Foundation GCSE maths with a fully qualified specialist GCSE maths teacher.
Our GCSE Maths teacher Youssef, has been teaching for over 25 years. He is very skilled in helping pupils reach their target grade, whether they are studying for the foundation or the higher maths exam. Youssef has trained in recognising and supporting pupils with specific maths difficulties, including dyscalculia. He is very patient and understanding with pupils who may feel anxiety around maths. We offer a free trial lesson/ assessment to give students the opportunity to meet Youssef and work with him. This also enables Youssef to identify strengths and weaknesses and set study targets.
Many parents find that aspects of GCSE maths have become a dim and distant memory. Trigonometry, algebra, standard form, and simultaneous and quadratic equations don’t tend to be used very much in everyday adult life! This can make it difficult to help your child at home and whilst there are many websites covering maths, often the guidance of a specialist teacher can have much quicker results (and cause less stress!).
Having a set time and place to focus on study can be more productive than working at home with all the available distractions that most teenagers have around them. Students generally find that a course of tuition boosts their performance at school too.
The pace of learning at school is often very fast and students have to move on before they become confident with new skills. Having the opportunity to consolidate their learning enables them to have a much greater depth of understanding.
